“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

2018 First Quarter Update
Over the years, donations to Colchester Food Shelf have tended to be a bit slower during the first few months of the year. With that in mind, countless individuals and organizations from throughout our community came together and made the first quarter of 2018 a huge success! We want to send out a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that helped, whether through volunteering, making food, grocery, or monetary donations, or even by helping us spread the word through social media, etc. Every little bit helps!
In the first quarter alone, 9,170.17 pounds of groceries were donated, and $4,958.00 in financial donations. There are a number of groups that made donations and/or held food drives during various events, including, but not limited to the following:
- Bia Diagnostics
- Colchester Lions Club
- Colchester Milton Rotary Club
- Colchester Schools
- Cub Scout Den 2 Wolves from Colchester Pack 655
- Hannaford Supermarket
- Price Chopper
Looking to become more involved with the Colchester Food Shelf? You can find more information here about volunteering or ways to donate.
Are you and/or your group/organization planning an event and considering making a Food Drive for the food shelf part of your plan? We can help promote your event on the food shelf website and social media accounts. Please complete the Food Drive Registration Form to let us know about your event.
Thank you again to all of you that continue to help support the Colchester Food Shelf.
