MASK WEARING: ​Please continue to wear a mask when talking with Food Shelf volunteers. Volunteers continue to wear masks throughout their shifts.

PROOF OF RESIDENCE INFORMATION: If you have not been to the Food Shelf before or if you have not been in 2022, please bring Proof of Residency of Colchester. Proof needs to be a current bill, lease etc., with your name and address. A license or car registration can NOT be used as Proof of Residence.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS: We have tables outside the Food Shelf, one with miscellaneous items and the other with recently outdated items. Please help yourself to those items that you will use.

GARDENERS AND THEIR FRESH VEGETABLES: Thank you so much for the fresh produce from our local gardeners. So far we have gotten: cucumbers, zucchini, garlic, green beans, summer squash, Swiss chard, and lettuce. We have also started to get some tomatoes. Thank you! Fresh vegetables are much appreciated.

DONORS: As a reminder, there are volunteers at the Food Shelf at 11:00 AM on Wednesdays, preparing for the day, if you would like to drop off donations between 11:00 AM – 12 Noon. Please do not leave donations if there is no volunteer there. Some grocery donations to consider might include apple juice; Progresso or Campbell’s Chunky soups with chicken or beef; cereals (Honey Nut Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, etc.); pasta sauce (without meat). KEEP SCHOOL BUS AREA CLEAR: Between 11:30-12:30, for any Food Shelf clients lined up in the school bus area in front of Union Memorial School: we need to keep spacing between cars to allow buses to pull in and leave for students attending summer school. The Food Shelf volunteers may ask you to move in order to give access to the buses. Thank you for paying attention during this time frame. This is the last week of Summer School.
