Colchester Food Shelf will be open on Wednesday, September 2 from 12 Noon to 6:00 PM
Temporary Change to the Flow of Vehicles at the CCFS (Continued)
The paving project at Union Memorial School continues again this week, which impacts the flow of vehicles at the Food Shelf. Please review the following important information regarding the impact of the paving project:
- Before heading to the Food Shelf, please ensure you have room in the trunk of your car or the back of your SUV.
- When you arrive at the Food Shelf, please pull in as if you were going to the side of the Food Shelf, but turn and stop parallel to the first garage door.
- If you are new to the Food Shelf, please bring proof of residency (E.g., utility bill, insurance bill, mortgage/lease). Unfortunately, a driver’s license cannot be used for proof of residency.
Gardeners with Extra Produce
If you plan to donate fresh produce from your garden to the CCFS, we ask that produce be brought to the Food Shelf on Wednesdays only, preferably before we open, so we can be sure that the fresh items are distributed on the same day. We will have volunteers at the Food Shelf by 11 AM on Wednesday, September 2, to receive produce donations. From 11:00 to 11:30 AM, you can come to the side door of the Food Shelf. The change in time is due to the continued paving project at Union Memorial School.
Donations
Thank you again for donating groceries to the CCFS! We would ask that you please bring donated items on Wednesdays. For this week, continue to look for the blue container for donations on the edge of the Claussen’s parking lot closest to the Food Shelf. If you plan to make a donation to the CCFS, please pull into Claussen’s parking lot and come towards the CCFS. Thank you again for your generosity!
