“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

You Decide, They Provide!
Who decides what?
The food shelf has been selected as a participating charity for the “You Decide, We Provide” giving campaign by Midstate Dodge on Facebook for the month of December.
How does it work?
It’s easy! Midstate Dodge will be posting a “You Decide, We Provide” poll on Saturday, December 16. People have the opportunity to vote for their favorite charity one time per day, every day between December 16 and December 31. The charity with the most votes by the end of the day on December 31 will receive a check for $500! We will provide a link to the poll when it becomes available.
Spread the word and let’s see if we can get enough votes to bring in $500 to help our community this holiday season!
Our New Look!
Welcome to our new website! We have been working hard to update the food shelf website to make the information more accessible to clients, volunteers, donors, and community members alike. One of the biggest improvements was to create a site that is more mobile-friendly compared to the previous website.
Were you able to find the information you were looking for? Is there anything we can do to improve your experience? We’d love to get your feedback! You can leave a comment on this post or email us at info@colchesterfoodshelf.org.
Thank you for stopping by!
Help Fight Hunger – Thank you!
The Colchester Food Shelf was selected by the Hannaford Cause Bag program to be the recipient of the proceeds from the sale of all Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger bags for the month of November at their Dorset Street location. This was the first time the food shelf had been selected for a Hannaford Cause Bag program.
Thank you all so much for your support of this program over the past month. During the month of November, the Hannaford store on Dorset Street sold 109 Fight Hunger reusable bags. The food shelf will be receiving a check from Hannaford for $27.25. Every little bit makes a difference!
We recently received word that the food shelf has been selected again for the month of January 2018 at the North Avenue location. We will have more details as we move closer to the end of 2017.
