The Food Shelf will be open this week on Wednesday, November 17 from 12 Noon to 6 PM. NOTE: The Food Shelf will be CLOSED on Wednesday, November 24.

At this time, we ask that when visiting the Food Shelf, please wear a mask, even while waiting in your car. Volunteers are also wearing masks. We want to keep everyone safe, visitors and volunteers alike.

IMPORTANT THANKSGIVING SIGN-UP/PICK-UP INFORMATION

Interested in receiving a Thanksgiving turkey and fixings? Please make note of the following important dates if you are signing up:

  • You must sign up prior to November 22.
  • You must be a current client of the Colchester Food Shelf.
  • Hours to pick up a Thanksgiving turkey and fixings are:
    • Monday, November 22 from 11 AM to 2 PM and 4 PM to 6 PM.
    • Tuesday, November 23 from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Please bring your Proof of Residency when you visit the Food Shelf for the first time, if you have not been to the Food Shelf in 2021, or if you have been instructed to bring documentation during your last visit. Documentation should be a bill, such as a utility bill, insurance bill, etc., or a mortgage/lease agreement. A driver’s license and/or car registration can NOT be used for Proof of Residency.

Thanksgiving Donations
We are reaching out to community members once again for turkeys and dinner fixing items, such as Turkeys (12-14 pounds preferred), scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole ingredients, gravy, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. We will be open FOR DONATION ONLY on Saturday, November 20, from 10 AM to 1 PM. Other grocery donations are also welcome. If Saturday is not convenient for you, we are open this Wednesday, November 17 from 12 Noon to 6 PM. For your convenience, park at Claussen’s Greenhouse in the space closest to the Food Shelf.

The Colchester Food Shelf will be open for donations tomorrow, Saturday, November 13! We would like to offer dinner fixings along with a turkey to Food Shelf clients. We are looking for: boxed scalloped potatoes, turkey gravy, green bean casserole ingredients (green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and French fried onion rings), boxed stuffing mix, and cranberry sauce. We have our freezers ready to accept turkeys (12-14 lbs is a good size).

We will be open FOR DONATION ONLY of turkeys and fixings on Saturday, November 13 and Saturday, November 20, from 10 AM to 1 PM both days.

The Colchester Food Shelf is preparing for Thanksgiving and looking to you, our loyal, very supportive Colchester residents, who continue to be wonderful assistants in the Food Shelf’s mission. We would like to offer dinner fixings along with a turkey to Food Shelf clients. We will be turning our freezers on to accept turkeys (12-14 lbs is a good size).
