Wednesday, August 30: Grocery Pick-up
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30 FOOD SHELF HOURS: 12 NOON TO 6 PM
SCHOOL STARTS ON WEDNESDAY: School begins on Wednesday, August 30. Please note – If you are coming to the Food Shelf between 2:30 – 3:30 PM, busses will be coming and going from Union Memorial School. Please line up from the Claussen’s Greenhouse side of the Food Shelf during that time period. At the same time, please do not block the driveway into Claussen’s Greenhouse.
IT’S STILL AUGUST: Just a reminder that we are still in August. This will be the fifth Wednesday of the month.
REUSABLE SHOPPING BAGS: Please bring reusable bags if available.
PROOF OF RESIDENCE INFORMATION: Please don’t forget to bring Proof of Residency if you are a new client or if requested. Proof would be a current bill, lease, etc., with your name and address. A driver’s license or car registration can not be used as Proof of Residence.
GARDENERS: Thank you to all who are bringing their extra produce to the Food Shelf. Tomatoes are coming now and they are looking great! Colchester residents that use the services of the Food Shelf are really enjoying all the fresh produce. There are two volunteers at the Food Shelf at 11 AM preparing for the day that can accept your produce. Donation dropoffs between 11 AM and 12 Noon is probably the easiest time to stop in.
OUT-OF-DATE ITEMS: As some of you think about getting ready to go south and cleaning out your pantry, please be sure to check the dates. We cannot put outdated items on our shelves.
DONATIONS: Thank you to all who donate so generously. Please only leave donations during open hours on Wednesdays/Saturdays. The high-priority items are those that are on the shopping list used by our clients. LAST WEDNESDAY FOR SUMMER SCHOOL: Buses will be picking up summer school students at Union Memorial School between 12 Noon and 1 PM, and we ask that you line up from the Claussen’s side of the Food Shelf parking lot. Please be sure not to block their entrances/driveways. We will guide you back to the school side when bus transportation is complete.
